Looking for a reasonably-priced bag to carry my .32 Colt Police Positive and my Ruger Mark I along with ammo, maybe some cleaning stuff, ear protection, etc. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

I use the tool bags from Home Depot. There are many different sizes and shapes. Most have many pockets, inside and outside of the bags. Hand grips and shoulder straps also. They are very well made and will carry heavy loads. It works for me

I concur with MADDOG. Also if you're an NRA member, when you renew (or join, if you aren't) their digital camo range bags work well for their intended purpose.

I found a very heavyweight tapestry fabric purse at Goodwill for $1.29. It has side pockets and good leather handles. Holds a pistol, ammo, and ear protection. Wife latched onto it, but I got it back.

I got one of those big ones from Midway some years ago. It can carry more stuff than I am able to anymore.

I Also carry a tough laptop bag that I can carry ammo, muffs and a few other things if I'm just going to shoot one or two handguns.

Thanks to y'all. Great ideas; already have a laptop bag so will try that first. Can you tell I'm at least half Scot?

Small suitcases on wheels will carry a bunch of heavy stuff easily.
gramps, who uses duffels too

With my new limitations, nothing of any weight hangs on the shoulder for long. I prefer wheeled luggage also. As far as carried or backpack-type bags, the options are endless and everywhere, I just don't load 'em up with ammo...

Welcome. There are about a million gun bags out there. I have a large one and a small one. It depends on what you want it to do. I also use a shopping cart or a folding hand truck sometimes when I have a lot to carry.

Plano makes many sizes, mostly for fishing but they work great for range mag. I have a couple different sizes. I found a Tupperware container that fits in the mail compartment of one, giving it a sturdy bottom.

Years ago I bought a MidwayUSA range bag for about $50.00. I take it everytime I go to the range. It carries targets, small tools, towels, ammo, etc. It has 2 pull out sheaths for handguns. Pockets that hold bug spray, lense cleaners and about everything I ever need. Also have used for a rest if I don't have one with me.

Now let me start by saying that I don't live in a bad part of town , But I do take precautions about my guns ,
I use a old time gym bag for my handguns when taking them out the door to my truck , for long gun l back up my truck to the garage so not to be seen , I don't care to have anyone know that I keep guns , no gun company logos on hats or shirts
No decals on the trucks , I keep a old army blanket in the back of my SUV to cover things , If its not readily seen its less of a temptation to smash the glass if I have to be away from the truck .
At one time l was living outside of Washington DC , A number of LEO's I knew told me that it was a common practice for Thugs to sit in their cars in the parking lot , of ranges and follow you home , Than brake in later because they saw
you walk out with you range bag . I still to the day take a round about way home to see if I'm being followed and it did happen once . So I recommend a old bag that doesn't scream Gun In Side

I also have a Home Depot tool bag. Stanley "Fat Max". has pouches on the outside.
and straps on the sides on the inside, Four on one side just the right size for
two mags each, and three straps on the other side will hold two compact and
one large pistol.

A friend upgraded his camera bag and gave me his old one. It works great as a range bag. Also, Cabela's had some real decent looking bags on sale last week for about $14.99

I've settled on a small range bag from MidwayUSA. It holds my two guns and all my magazines plus there is enough room for ammo and tools. I think it was $ 35.00.

Harbor Freight has all kinds of tool bags. Most go "on sale" from time to time , very reasonable.
