Was gonna put some Uncle Mike’s Quick Release swivels on the sling for my 189-series Mini 30 (Big hog hunt coming up this weekend down on the in-law’s farm). I put the swivels on the sling - no big deal, right?
I then tried to slide the swivel thru the mounting hole on the gas block & I realized there’s a little lip inside the mounting hole that keeps the original stock swivels from sliding too far one way or the other. The Quick Release swivel won’t go all the way thru the mounting hole because of that lip. The diameter of the swivel piece is just a smidgen larger than the inside diameter of the lip in the mounting hole on the gas block.
Is it OK to drill out that little lip so the diameter of the gas block hole is constant all the way thru?
Thanks so much for your advice!!!
