Won't Lipsey's tell you?

There's several threads here with JT or PPP in the title ….. maybe one of those have talk about inventory.

Apparently, when Lipsey's has guns, they notifiy the LGS and the LGS notifies me to see if I still want the gun. Neither Ruger nor Lipsey's can tell me anything about additional production.

To understand how the system works.

Lipsey's has committed to buying X amount of a specific model.
Ruger agrees to build those guns.
Ruger put the order in to tool up for that model, and a specific number of that model.
When they get all the previous orders done, then they tool up & build the Lipsey's model/order.
Once that initial order is filled, they move to the next model in the que to build.
Ruger doesn't known when the next Lipsey's order will be put into production. And Lipsey's doesn't know either because Ruger doesn't know.

Demand drives how often a model gets built.
Few models have a dedicated line & isn't re-set to other models.
Sales & consumer demand can drive how often a model is put in the que.

It's possible that due to the issues they had initially of the JT model,, that it's been pushed back until all things can be worked out.

"Maybe" with all of the complaints and re-work they had to deal with:

A. If they make them again the MSRP and selling price will go up, maybe substantially.
B. I do not think Ruger is in the business of detailing firearms to the level that was expected of the PPP and they just "may" decide that even if they made "A" above it's out of their wheelhouse and they won't make any more.
C. If "B" above is the case I'll bet they made a LOT more money on the run of the mill flat tops at a retail cost of $1k and down already out there.
D. If B &C turn out to be true, anyone who was lucky and already received a PPP they will make a decent profit a few years down the road.

We'll see.

Am I correct in assuming that Ruger is not making any more JT PPP's? It appears to me that since no one in the Ruger family is involved in the operation, quality control is in the toilet. They seem to care more about making tactical tupper ware crap than good guns.

They are in the business to make money, not make collector's pieces. If there is demand they will make more, it is a question of when.
