While I was at the gun show today looking around one of the dealers had 3 different models of 10/22

first was a carbine w/ wood stock for $189
second was also a carbine w/ synthetic stock for $199
third was a tactical synthetic stock for $239

Is the flas supressor really worth addin $40 or 5o bucks for?

Are these reasonable prices for a 10/22.

I am not in a hurry and it is a dealer that is at all of our shows so I can always wait till next month for the next show to pick one up. Just curious about how good these prices are.

$189 is the lowest I ever see them around here anymore. It would have to be a pretty good sale for that even. Most of the time they are ~$209.

Dealers can simply set their prices as they wish. I see them range from $200-$250 for just the standard carbine. Any little thing that's added is a selling point so some dealers will use that as a reason to add a few dollars. When it's a different model altogether, the Tactical one for example, that added cost covers the flash suppressor, the labor for it to be installed and the current trend with anything being labeled as "tactical". It's marketing. Some see it as just a flash suppressor, others see it as "tactical" so it's a must-have and far superior to another model not designated as such. Some see any added accessory as a BIG plus. (take note when some list their "custom" work on the 10/22)
Simply buy the model you like and worry less about the nickels and dimes of difference and more about enjoying the firearm.

$59 at Jensen's Custom Ammunition in Tucson.

Oh, no, wait, that was 1972 . . . * SIGH *

At least it's still a good shooter though.

Now wait, be fair. How much were you getting paid for two weeks work back then? And how much were you paying for a gallon of gas? I would have to say that $59 was worth a heck of a lot more than it is today. Look at gold and silver prices back then.

I used to pay 50 cents for my school lunch and my kids pay $2. It's still the same crappy school lunch!

Oh yes, no argument there. Just being sentimental I guess.

Back then it was my newspaper route savings. And my allowances. And saving my school lunch money by not buying lunch. I may have gone hungry but I wanted that carbine!

So yeah, it was a lot of money then.

What is a 'flas supressor' ?

The suppressor for my 10/22 cost me $700

Edit:

Oh, never mind.. I got it: Flash Suppressor,

first cup of coffee had not hit bottom yet.

and to answer that question... probably not...unless the barrel is threaded, then probably is.
