I'm sure that somebody here will know the answer to this pretty simple question. I have a Mini-14 which is the tactical version with collapsible folding side-folding stock as shown below. (Ruger cat#M-14/20CF, Model#5846). If it matters, it's series 581. The problem is that I really do NOT LIKE the tactical stock for several reasons. I'd prefer to have the standard ranch rifle type stock that is on all the other Mini-14's. Aside from the flash suppressor, is there any significant difference in these rifles (aside from the target rifle, which I KNOW to be different), and could I easily swap the stock for any other standard Mini-14 stock? and if anybody has a stock to swap, please let me know (synthetic preferably, but hardwood is okay too).

Also, is there are particularly good place to order aftermarket stocks for the Mini-14? Thanks in advance.

Thanks.

It should fit in any stock designed for the standard (Mini 14) Ranch Rifle.

Hogue makes a synthetic stock in a sporter configuration, should be available lots of places, here's one:

It should be an easy swap. If you are interested, I have a standard one we could trade on. PM me if you are interested.
