Question about a 1022 serial #

I just picked up another 1022 in a trade . The serial # is 831 xxxxx . When was this made ? 359 series is last shown on the Ruger site , so I am a bit puzzled .

Are you sure it was 831-? Ruger hasn't reached that prefix yet, but they are in the 823- prefix right now.

It absolutely was a 831xxxxx serial number. Sold it three days ago. It must have been right off production line - I just picked it up in multi- gun trade a day before I posted the OP .
 
Ruger's messed up on their sn's then as they need to use the whole 823- to 829- group of prefixes before they move on to 830- and 831-, about 800,000 guns.
Something more to watch for.

Thanks Wes. Let me know the whole sn and I'll put it in the next News Exchange for 10/22 collectors to watch for. Ruger must have messed up on their prefixes, which creates more problems when Ruger does eventually reach the 831-.

wes...please send me some info on that 831- prefix 10/22.
Seems Ruger might have the wrong guy working their serial numbering machine.
Saw a New Vaquero sn 512-42915 and sn 521-31505 4-5/8" .45 flattop at the Des Moines show this weekend. Neither model series should be anywhere near those serial numbers yet....in fact, they're about 100,000 away I think on the New Vaquero and I know they are that far away on the NM flattops.

The newest 10/22's at the show have an 824- prefix, with several of them there. Also tons of 823- guns.

Yep...just checked Ruger's website for sn history and it says their Vaqueros were at 511-17942 at the beginning of 2012. 125,000 New Vaqueros in 15 months? DON'T THINK SO!
