I bought one of these 22/45 Lites made for Davidson's. Model 43948. Picture attached. It's got a proprietary dot mount with RMSc footprint. Picture attached. I have a Holosun 407k on hand and curious if just one nub on the front end of the mount is enough for the install. I can file down the rear nub. Thanks for any advice!

That's a great suggestion it's just that those holes don't exist on this particular model. Rather than go through the hassle to get this Holosun I have already to fit the proprietary base, I'll just get a different green dot that is a RMSc print.

my apologies I didn't understand your dilemma

so the Davidson special edition has a unique mounting different from other Rugers of the same model? that's odd

I think I would go the route you're going and buy a different model that fits that specific mounting rather than milling it to fit something you have

I will say this, if you really want to mount the style you have on there, I would buy a spare mount if available and modify it, keeping the factory unit in tact for the long game value 😉

that's a neat looking model, I really haven't looked at much, good luck with your project!

No worries at all - it's certainly an odd duck.

2 lugs guarantee alignment in case the countersinks on the Red Dot don't quite match the screws. I'd say they serve no other purpose on a .22 pistol, though on larger platforms they probably mitigate recoil. Question: are you sure that removing the one lug will accomplish what you want (presumably adapting a slightly different footprint)?
