I just recently purchase a 5 inch Ruger KGP151 357 magnum and have had a number of issues with it. I love Ruger products and I own a number of them but the problems I am having with the revolver has me disappointed. I don't know if I am nit-picking or not so I would appreciate any feedback.

Problems:

1. The ejector star infrequently hangs up on the cylinder when ejecting cases. I noticed a lot of loose play in the star.

2. The cases hang up in the cylinder when I am trying to eject the cases from the cylinder and the cases do not eject from the cylinder.

3. I had to adjust the rear sight a considerable way to the side to get the sights on target.

4. I get a face full of gunpowder back blast from the cylinder gap. I have owned other magnum revolvers (including the 500 magnum at one time) of various manufacturers that I have shot my whole life and I have never experienced anything like what I am experiencing with the Ruger. Cylinder lock-up appears to be good and the gap does not seem to be excessive.

5. Accuracy is mediocre at best using several different brands of ammunition.

Simple fix, call Ruger and complain and they will fix it for free.

You ARE turning the gun muzzle up to eject empties, RIGHT? That is how you are supposed to eject empties from a DA revolver. The Earth sucks (gravity) and this aids you with full ejection of empties. This is DA revolver shooting 101. If you eject empties with the cylinder horizontal, gravity pulls them across the open space, and if you push the ejector slowly; all the more so. This is also how you get unburned powder under your extractor. Operator error if that happens.

The back blast may be a gun issue and I WOULD contact Ruger about that one. It may have a timing issue.
