I own a Ruger Redhawk (1986) manufacture. The rear sight blade is broken. I purchased a new Ruger factory replacement rear sight blade. The problem is, I can't seem to remove the old sight blade in to install the new one. I ve searched for information/ video on the subject, but have found nothing. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Pete

Look closely at the replacement blade. Notice the little "bump". Next, look at the top of the sight housing. You can see a small "slot" on one side of the groove. That little bump must align with the slot.
Remove the adjusting spring screw. Then you need to slip a thin jewelers type screwdrivers blade or something in the hole, to depress the spring. There is a tool made for this, but most folks use whatever they have on hand. Once the spring is depressed, you can align the old blade in a fashion to allow the bump on it to align with the slot & go up & out with it. Reverse the procedure to install the new blade. Remember the spring needs to be depressed to allow the hooked edge on the bottom of the blade to fit in the center of the spring.
