Question on changing out a rear sight on a Super Redhawk

Hi all!
Want to change out the rear sight on an older SRH. Which way do I tap out the little pin? (Looking down the barrel.). Thank you!

However, when in doubt as you hold the gun, right to left. Right side is the Serial Number.
SRH, I think the SN# is on the bottom of the grip, so let’s go with,,, the cylinder opens left.

It's not tapered, just a 1/16" piece of wire. When you reinstall tap it in till about 1/4" sticks out, then give it a slight bend, then finish install. The slight bend will usually keep the pin from walking out, adds just a little tension.

Guess I should clarify; holding it in my right hand and sighting down the barrel through the rear sight, then front sight...

It doesn't matter, it's not a graduated pin.
Add a slight bend if it doesn't already have one while reinstalling it as G2 commented above.

Depending on what after market sight you might be installing there may be some slight fitting needed.

Just a newer Ruger rear sight; the current one is pretty beat up and uses a tiny allen wrench for the windage adjustment; I prefer a slotted screw there.
