I think most of us here can agree that this "instructor" is not the best person to be teaching such classes. And,, as we all know,, a poor business model will fail,, as the word of mouth will get around.
We had the couple out her yesterday evening,, and the biggest thing was that both of them had very little prior instruction or experience. They were rightfully concerned about passing the shooting portion of the class. While Miss Penny & I had only a few hours,, we did get them to shooting a few different guns & used similar drills that NC requires for them to do to qualify.
They brought a few guns with them,, including a SIG in .22, a Ruger LC9, a Ruger LCP, and a Shield MP40.
The LC9 had never been shot. The Shield was a loaner from her Dad, and the LCP had only been fired once before. The Sig,, I'm not sure of.
The guns we took were mostly Ruger 22's,, as I think that's what he uses for rentals,, (by looking at his website, and the fact he rents guns & supplies the ammo for only $20.) But we did take a few revolvers, to let them see & understand the simplicity of them. And I also took a SR9 to let them see a full sized 9 that would "qualify" for this guy's class.
Both of them will be just fine for the shooting portion of this CW class.
They did have an issue with the Sig 22 in functioning. I think it was mostly the ammo,,, so I told them where to go & to get some CCI Mini-Mag stuff. And she got to learn about semi-auto malfunctions & clearing them.
But the biggest thing is they will take the class,, learn the laws & such,, and get their certificate. THEN they are going to take a day when we all have more time,, and come back here to get a lot more training.
And the comment was made after they tried the revolvers; "I like this!"
