I recently bought an SP101 327 4.2" from Orchemo, a great member to deal with. I've added a Vortex venom relex sight. Wow does that shoot. I'm planning on using two loadings, one that will be for gentle paper punching and popping the odd squirrel, the other full throttle for a finisher for a deer, or a very dumb, blind and deaf coyote. I want to lay in a thousand plinkers and maybe a couple hundred for full power. So far I've only used 100 grain jacketed bullets. I would appreciate thoughts on what bullets others are having success with. If you're using cast do you like one over another?
Thanks

If I were to be using factory jacketed bullets,, I'd go with the Hornady XTP's as well. A proven quality bullet.

But I cast my own,, and I have a couple of MP Molds that are my favorites. Both the 115 grn & the 135 grn solids are proven to be quite good.

XTP for factory jacketed. But I don't shoot them myself. Cast only now days.

As for cast, my main bullet is the Arsenal 98gr Keith over a max load of #9. The MP 314-360 cast as a large hp on 4227 is good for coyotes and other large varmints. Both cast at 11bhn and lubed with LBT soft blue are extremely accurate without leading in my guns.

I also have a SP101 4.2 inch 327.I have a Burris fast fire III mounted on mine. I bought this SP new in 2017 and have a little over 6000 rounds through it.I have never fired a factory 327 round all have been reloads with cast bullets. My all around favorite load is with the
NOE 315-102-swc-AZ4 mold sized .314. https://noebulletmolds.com/site/product-category/bullet-moulds/314-316/315-102-swc-az4/

I use 3.7 grains of Bullseye with Federal small pistol primers in327 starline brass.Velocity is just under 1000 fps.Accuracy runs from a rest around 1 to 1 1/2 inch at 25 yards 6 shots.

For a target only or small game load I use a full 100 grain wadcutter from Missouri Bullets with a small amount of TiteWAD powder in 32 HR mag case.
This SP101 327 revolver is one of my favorite hand guns..

I load for the Single 7, which has a shorter cylinder than your SP101. For full boogie with the 327 case 100 gr XTP, I use 13 gr of Enforcer or AA9, both very blasty. For plinking or small game, the 100 gr MP 314-640 with 3-3.5 gr of W321 in 32 H&R is hard to beat. Same bullet with 5.5 gr of Longshot in 32 H&R cases (this load is over book) is a great do it all load, for me.

I have the MP 314-140 mold that Contender mentioned but it is too long in the Single 7 with 327 cases and I haven't worked up a load for it in the 32 H&R case yet. It fits my LCR 327 cylinder in 327 cases so you should be able to fit it in the SP101 as well. You'll have to get the recipe from Contender if you go that route.
