A week ago, I was tested for Covid-19. And sure enough, I' m positive. Not fun fever as high as 101.7, some direah, cough till my ribs are sore, and lots of sitting in the recliner! This morning, temp is normal, hope it stays that way, so I can be released after 10 days on Saturday. Need to run my Amish phone booth routes! Batteries .net be very low, after 2 weeks! Overloadded

I have a friend who is an MD and a graduate epidemiologist; in his humble, and professional opinion, if EVERYONE wore masks, stayed away from 'gatherings' (including going out for drinks or dinner, gun shows), washed hands often, we would be able to wipe out this disease in approx 7 weeks and a vaccine would not be needed. YUP, it's tough to discipline ourselves....many of us just can't do it. I can :-)))
p.s. hope you continue on the mend and stay well....
FWIW,
J.

Did they give you an explanation for why they didn't give you anything to treat it??? That's one of the things that makes me angry. They won't test someone, if they aren't postive you have it. When they are sure you have it, they wont' treat you so you can give over it quicker and easier. But they want to spout how the numbers are going up, when the truth is the numbers are going down. So basically you are a statistic. Glad you are doing better.

There is a medication that reduces severity of symptoms and fatality rates: hydroxychloroquine. Studies done in the U.S. mostly addressed critically ill patients in hospitals, where it does no good. In Europe, where it was given very early in the disease process, it produced a significant reduction in advanced symptoms, and cut the death rate. U.S. health care agencies don't want to admit that European doctors might actually know what they are doing.

Uganda has 45 million people. As a country, they take hydroxychloroquine to prevent malaria. They have implemented no social distancing policies or mask mandates. They have had 45 COVID deaths. That would be like the US having 300 deaths.

Yale University said that if the US had started people on Hydroxychloroquine early on, they could have saved 100,000 lives. Yet doctors are reluctant to give it out to people. But there's people that still want to say it's not about politics.

Good to hear you remain among the living.

My son, who is 50 years old, a non-smoker, and a fitness nut, came down with it about a month ago, as did 6 other guys he works with, all within a day of each other. Obviously, somebody came to work sick and shared it with his friends.... Anyhow, he has fully recovered now, but he lost 12 pounds during the ordeal, and says he has never in his entire life been so miserable.

It got me a few weeks back ...... on Friday I just felt "off". Saturday, did not want to do anything but sit around the house........no other symptoms and SWMBO said that alone was just "strange". Sunday woke to a 104.5 fever. Ibuprofen/Acetaminophen knocked it down to 100-101 and slept all day. Monday woke with a 101-102 fever but again knocked it back around 99-100 with those same two things and called my doctor. They got me in, administered the test for the "Chinese Flu" and told me to continue with the fever reducers, rest and drink lots of fluids. Tuesday morning at 2AM, I woke up in a puddle. I had sweat soaked the bed from my toes to my nose.....it actually squished as I rolled out of it. My temp had dropped to 97. Cleaned up the bed and jumped in the shower trying to get warm....... Got back in bed shivering but went to sleep, wife said I shivered uncontrollably for a good thirty minutes. Woke up about 9AM feeling hungry and thirsty. Ate a big breakfast and headed out to the shop. That was it, over and done in those few days with zero aftereffects. I've had flu that hit harder than that. Test results came back on Thursday, positive. Doc said to hole up for the recommended 10 day isolation period. Supposedly I am in the target demographic.....over 65 and diabetic.......just heard that the CDC released "new" data stating the recovery rate for my age group is 99.5%. I've said from the beginning, the libs weaponized and politicized this virus purposely scaring the crap outta the entire country.....and now they don't know how to get out of it without admitting they lied about 95% of everything.

Glad you guys are getting better.

A girl checking into her dorm at Oregon State tested positive, so she returned home to self isolate... but stopped at her own Dr's office that same afternoon and got tested there, too. NEGATIVE.

Glad you’re feeling better. My daughter recovered but didn’t have a bad case.
What’s an Amish phone booth route?
I have 2 flip phones, each in a wood building the size of an outhouse. I keep the phones charged using DeWalt or Makita batteries. Change battery every Thursday, and collect the dollar per call from a drop box. The 2 phones cost $62.00 a month for unlimited calls. The phone booths must be located on English property. HCQ is unavailable in America for CV 19, Thanks to the FDA, pharmacies will not fill Rx for it off label. Vitamin D3 deficiency has been indicted in CV. I take both Zinc and Vit D3. Good luck!

I'm back out into the public again. My wife is doing better also, still a spot of fever before bed. We can survive this, just last close to 2 weeks, before you are fever free. Younger folks might do better/quicker. Overloadded
