Colt Police Positive

I love the PP. I have an original Cobra, same frame. I would like a PP with a five inch barrel. .38 Special or .32-20.

Has anyone else here ever read the 1940 Colt history book? It's a great book and well worth reading. They follow the building of a Colt Official Police .38 revolver from raw material to finished product. The amount of hand fitting is amazing.

The Police Positive is one of my favorite revolvers. I particularly liked the newer models with the heavier shrouded barrel and bigger grips....nice guns, they just got to pricey that's all.

My police positive is kinda cool. It is chambered in 38 New Police and it has DETROIT P D stamped on the back strap. According to the serial number it was manufactured in 1919. I sure wish it could talk.

here's mine in 32-20. it ay one time was security issue at the Curtis Wright Aircraft co. during WWII. that's why I love it!

I have a 1935 Police Positive Target that belonged to my grandfather and a 1921 Police Positive .38 S&W that the bluing has turned into a very nice even plum finish. Love them both but the .38 isn’t the most comfortable pistol to shoot with the small frame and grip it has a little bit of bite, good thing the ammo is sort of scarce or I might be tempted to shoot it more often.

The Police Positive Special was a decent revolver. A couple of cops that I knew when I was a kid carried them.
My great uncle, NYPD from 1919 to 1949, carried one in his retirement. Hip pocket holster. Four inch barrel. He always wore a coat and tie when he left the house. Precinct Captain, so he kept to his standards.
