I have a MkI Ruger 22lr pistol with the factory comp. I think it is about a 7" inch barrel, factory markings.

I would like to scope it using a Leupold 2x or 4x scope. I have looked at the clamp on scope mounts but would really prefer to drill/tap the receiver.

Would anyone have a suggestion for the drill/tap mount that would hold up and interface to the Weaver ring system?

I was not aware that the newer pistol top was the same as the older models.

So will look into the Ruger mount and try it out.

thanks for the info.

If you have a MKI with the FACTORY muzzle brake, I'd reconsider the D&T job. I'd first check to see if by chance it was shipped with the muzzle brake. That could make the value go up.
And, in general, the clamp on's are quite good on them, and do not remove some of the value of an original gun.
