Pick this unconverted blackhawk today

Just happened by my LGS and found this old flat top unconverted.357.
It now resides with me.

No box or papers

Nice catch. Not that it matters if you're happy with it, but it may have started life as a 6 1/2".

Notice the sight base solder seam and barrel discoloration on the right side of the front sight. Not a an area where the blue wears off. More likely from resoldering the front sight back on after cutting the barrel. Then touched up with cold blue.

I don't think so, to early for a 61/2" per the S/N I think this is a type 2A BKH-34

A simple $10 letter from Ruger will clear that up.

6 1/2" barrel BKH-36 started with a serial number of 22572 in 1959
Per the Red Eagle,, Type 2 Transition BKH-34 (A sub-variety since it has the narrow land cylinder base pin. Known examples 6313-11588.

Sometimes it's good to be wrong, this is one of those times for me! Maybe the sight just needed to be resoldered.
