I am looking at maybe buying what is described as a lnib Ruger P95. Comes with the box and all paper work. I am told some ammo also comes with it, but have not yet found out how much. 2 mags and a Bianchi holster come with the gun. The guy is asking $325.00 for what all is included here.

Good price or what should I offer the guy?

I paid $339 for my new SS P95. No ammo or anything if that helps.

Edit: Should have added it came with 2 15rd mags.

Lots of thee type of questions really depend on where you are and the market in that area. In Mass a $500 gun can go for $100 more than it does in NH.

I'd say if it is really clean the P95 itself would be worth, market dependent, around $275. The stainless slide is worth a little more, about $25.00. I can have a new blued P95 sent to my door for about $300.00. That deal isn't hard to find. Gotta add FFL fees.

2 mags (total - 1 extra) are important to me and bump the price up about $10-$20. The holster, that is a throw-in. A holster is such a personal thing that I have a hard time finding them valuable. It is like an aftermarket grip, it doesn't do much to the price unless it is a grip that "everybody" wants. Like any aftermarket item you pigeon-hole yourself with the item. A buyer may not care for it and it may not be of value.

Location will matter....

is this a local buy or is shipping to your FFL involved?

If it is the seller 'should' be aware of what the shipping of the pistol will cost and also that the ammo can't be shipped with the gun.

if it's a local deal then the price is pretty good.

+1. Whittakers has them new for 305.00 SS and 279.00 Blue. Seen a bunch for 250.00 with box and all.

then again, keep in mind that often with semis.... new is not all that it is cracked up to be.... takes a couple hundred rounds to really break in a semi-auto pistol to really know how it functions.... figure the cost of 300 rounds of ammo and in someways used should be worth more than new.

just a different way of looking at things.

blume, you sound like someone selling a gun

If you buy used, know what you are getting.

If you don't know, get somone that does, it will save you a lot of heartache and possible cash.

Always ask for a discount. $300 is better that $325 any day-on any gun. Seems most shops and even private sellers price a little wiggle room in their initial price so they don't leave any money on the table. Easier to come down a bit than try and go up at all.

As stated in the above the prices seem to vary quite a bit regionally. Do you know if it is a Safety model, decocker only, or DAO? Also is it SS or Blued? All of the above will move the price between $250 and $350 depending on configuration IMO. Bianchi holsters are of good quality so if you ended up not liking the rig you can always throw it up for sale on here or Gunbroker and sell it for some money back.

No matter what you end up paying the P95 is an excellent pistol, they are accurate, soft shooting, and reliable high capacity 9mm pistols made in America. Whats not to like. And for around $300--I feel it is the best gun in its price range...by far. Good luck and post pics when you get it!

I bought mine for $250. It is the blued model and two years old. Looks like new, in box 2 mags and all the paper work.

Good luck. Being SS and a holster, (if you like it) could be a good deal. Check the price of the holster new.
