P90 ?

Stopped at a gun show,and saw a ruger P90,with the box,lock and 2 mags.
It looked to have been fired very little,and the asking price is $425.00
Is this a fair price for one of these,and are their any problems to look out for?
Never paid much attention to auto's before,as I always like revolvers,bit lately have gotten the urge for a ..45,and no one seems to want to give up their P345,so P90 is second choice. Thanks

P90 is probably a better and more accurate gun from what I have read. I have no experience with the P345. I assume it was a KP90 (stainless), but you didn't say?

I have one and prefer it over the P345. I had one of those also but sold it. I had no failures with it. Most people agree the ergonomics are a bit better on the P345 but the P90 works for me just as well and I shoot it better, it is very accurate and is a very heavy duty gun. Also, there is no mag disconnect on the P90 or LCI.
I have never heard anything but praise for the P90. The one and only criticism you might hear is the mag issue, no 1911 mags for it. But that's not really a big issue if you like the gun.

IMO, $425 is a bit high but not too bad. Ruger stopped making them and the price will probably just continue to go up. I bought a new stainless P90 two years ago for $449, it's a keeper.

If you decide you want the P345 two of my LGS's had them yesterday, each had two in the case, I think around $440.00 new. Both will ship.

Sounds a tad high but prices do vary from region to region. Paid $365.00 for my KP90 ~ used but with the box and all the goodies ~ a few months back.

That seems a bit more in line. I have a high volume gun trading friend who has been getting some good deals on his trail of pawn shops especially on the Ruger P guns. A few out there lately?

$425 is a bit high but if you pay that you probably won't regret it. My KP90 was my first pistol and I love it. I rarely get to shooti it anymore because 45ACP is so expensive. But it is a reliable accurate shooter.

The decocker versions of the P90 were right up there just a touch behind inflation up to April 2010, the last prices I collected. Current inflation of the $340 on the chart would be $421.13. So, for a decocker version, any way, the posted price would seem to be right where the average price trend would be as of March 2012 (last CPI data I have).

Ruger P90DC 4-1/2 in Bbl Pistol in .45 ACP,. Bluebook of Gun Values (32nd Edition) indicates between $335 in 95% condition and $475 in 100% condition for this gun. I have 44 recorded prices for this model gun from $251 to $475 over a period of 6 Yrs 7 Mos ending April 8, 2010. The average price as of that date was $362. No refurbs, no refinishes, regular sights. Adjusted to two magazines. All represented as 95% or better. No distinction for import location or engineering revision, if any, no special editions, no distinctions for box, papers, tools. Current or last MSRP is $591.

The price might be a little high but traditional DA/SA semi's are getting harder and harder to find. Stiker fired pistols are the "in" thing now. I bought my P90 in the mid 90's. It's a great gun. The only downside is that it is no longer made so the day will come when parts will no longer be available. As tough as the gun is it probably won't ever need any parts.

I have a mint p90 for about five years. reliable, dependable great gun. My only comment is it is very picky with reloads, feed it factory not a problem.
seems the chamber has very tight tolerances compared to my Colt 1911.
Guess I will have to enjoy it with factory stuff.

I bought mine new quite a while ago, I want to say early 90's. I've had well over 7,000 rounds through it both factory and hand loads. Other than a bad batch of primers I've never had a misfire or failure to feed. The pistol has been 100% reliable.

Accuracy is fine.

It is a large pistol and not easy to conceal, especially in warm weather but I would trust it if my life depended on it.

Guess one could say I really do like my P90 (KP90DC to be exact).

I picked up a couple of "parts kits" online, one just the small parts, the other everything but the frame. The slide assembly works just fine on my P90 frame. So, as long as the frame holds up, I'm set for life.

The ones around here are averaging $375. They are getting very hard to find as people who own them aren't selling or trading them in as often. I love mine and it will be the one I get rid of last or be buried with or pass on to my son. Outstanding pistol.

Did you notice that the price spikes are always in an election year?

I just bought one (P90DC Stainless) last week in Toledo while in town for $345. No box or manual. Haven't had a chance to put but 50 rounds through it yet. Seems just about as accurate as my P89DC. One good thing about it is all my accessories for my P89 will work with it.
