I just got a P90 that had a mag release problem. Figures out that it is just a broken mag latch spring. Brownell's has one for $4 plus $6 for shipping. Do you think that Ruger would send me one?
There's a parts kit that on GB that has one for $32.50 shipped, might be kind of nice to have a few extra parts.
Any other ideas what to do?

I've learned the hard (and expensive) way that it's always best to call Ruger first.

Ya never know if ya don't ask and Ruger is world famous for outstanding service. I tried once to buy a couple of grip screws or something of the sort ~ they sent 'em for free and wouldn't take no for an answer.

I have found Ruger not to send items for free but they are typically cheaper than any other source I have found. Even used stuff on ebay is higher usually.

Never buy elsewhere without checking with the maker first. Elsewhere pays the factory price, so you pay more.

I bought some 10/22 parts through Midway once, only because Ruger didn't have them in stock (a rare occurance), and I paid about half again extra. Thankfully a few small parts that didn't total much, anyway.

good idea, bearcatter.
Ruger customer service said it would be here in a couple weeks. No charge, I guess, because she didn't ask for anything.

Well the spring came in last week and I got it on tonight. It seems to work just fine. I'll try to get it test fired sometime.
I put some new uncle mike grips on there that I picked up on GB from a tip I got on this forum. Looks pretty good!
I've got some pretty big gouges in the frame and slide. I guess I'll take a dremmel and smooth them down a little. Any idea what I can use to touch the frame up with to make it match in color when I get done?
And the sights need to be brightened up. I guess I'll dab a little paint on the dots. Any better ideas?

I've carried a P-90 for 15 years now was a uniformed Police Officer. It is my personal pistol as my department lets us do that.
I load/unload it every day I work so that a good number of pushes on that spring.
My mag latch spring breaks about every 3 years. Ruger send me a few everytime I call no charge. Takes about 15 min to change.

More than likely from my post. They were a good deal and nobody was bidding on them. Get some spare parts if you plan to shoot it a lot.

Check with the manufacturer first. It depends on the item, though. I have gotten free repair parts from Redding and S&W.

The flip side is a SAECO sizing die straight from Redding is $20 more than the same item ordered from Midway.
