P89DC Simple Mod

I picked up a nice P89DC at a local pawn shop before Christmas at a seriously low price. After reading another thread here about using an early P85 "extended" slide release, I ordered 2 from Numrich and waited. They finally arrived and I swapped it out. While I understand why Ruger would make them thinner and shorter, I think they missed the boat. It REALLY makes the slide release functional. I only wish they fit my P90!

Top is my wife's pistol before I changed the mag release. Below it is mine. She's really happy with the extra leverage and surface area.

Nice looking DC unit. The only reason I can thing that Ruger stopped this part was they do not call it a slide release but a stop. The added length makes you think it is a release.
