p345 jamming ....

Hey guys...new guy here and new owner of slightly used p345. I've always been a fan of the Rugers probably because my dad always had one. Anyway, long story short I've come across the common jamming. Mine jams on the last bullet every time in the chamber. I've read several fixes on this but couldn't find a consistent consensus on the issue. My brother who did competition shooting said a competition spring didn't fully cure his jamming but definitely made a significant improvement. Any more info on this would be greatly appreciated!

shocker, Welcome to the forum! You didn't "specify" just what the jamming entailed. Is it jamming going in to the chamber or coming out after firing? If it is a feeding problem going into the chamber, the first thing I would try to eliminate is the "magazine". Try another known, good magazine. What length is your ammo? Is it factory or your own home grown loads? Last round problems can often be atributed to an improper follower or feedlip configuration or weak/altered magazine spring...................Dick :wink:

The jam happens as the last bullet enters the chamber, with slide remaining open. The bullet appears to not fully enter the chamber, allowing the slide to close. I have to pull slide back to get jam out. Hope that additional info sheds a little more light on the issue. I called my dealer and we are going to try a new magazine first to see if that remedies the problem.

Mag spring would be my guess. Take your mag apart and pull the spring a little longer and stuff it back in and try it. Doesn't cost anything and can hurt.
