Was an overtravel stop ever a factory feature on any Mark ll target trigger?
There's a Mark ll at my LGS,in an aluminum trigger ,the counter guy says it's factory. The trigger pull is stupefyingly incredibly awesome.
Blued ,5 1/2",checkered walnut, $400,I might buy it.

Not factory.
Volquartsen has made replacement triggers for them.
I would say that it's very likely that the trigger has been replaced. And there is a possibility of some other work that was done.
A fair purchase in my opinion.

Maybe you should change your handle from " contender" to "enabler "...I think I'll get it, love Mark ll's.

Actually, there was an over travel screw on the MKII Target models but it wasn't visible externally, you had to disassemble the pistol to get access to it.
This is correct. The adjustment screw is on the front face of the trigger instead of being in the shoe. You have to pull the trigger out to adjust it.

The Standard models were not made with the screw. Only the adjustable sight models were.

I believe this is what you are asking about as mentioned by TE.

Snatch that gun up!! Well worth it if untouched, more worth it with the potential of added extras.
I did ! I suspect it has a VQ trigger, hammer, sear kit in it. I measured the trigger pull in the store, 2 1/4 lbs with no creep or over travel.
It's in gun jail (waiting period) for 10 days, I have high hopes for it being a shooter!

wproct is correct,, but considering the OP was asking about a gun he saw,, BEFORE buying it,, the internal screw would not be visible. So,, that's why I knew it was not a factory overtravel screw adjustment.

Good snag. You may well be quite pleased with yourself.

No, the factory never put in a pre-travel screw. Both can be in the face of the trigger. There is a little bevel there. One goes above, the other below. (above and below the pivot point)

That's right. When I bought my mk2 Standard model, the pretravel was horrible and the overtravel wasn't bad at all. Rather than D&T for a set screw, I installed a pin below the pivot point. I sanded the head a little at a time until I had reliable resets with minimal pretravel.

It's funny how the same idea can hit multiple people. To solve my MK-II trigger I came up with a pre travel screw. 5 or so years later I see a guy on line touting the same thing. Now they are well known.
