Well got me a jewell.. 2004 ss Vaquero.. beyond cherry.. Don't know how to post pic so I'm putting the Gunbroker item # up. It is now sitting here with me next to the keyboard. Better than Viagra--yup. Opinions on price paid. Only problem--- ammo won't be in til friday. I guess I gotta settle for drooling til then. Senior moment guys item #180182302..

That is a GORGEOUS Vaquero. Congratulations! I love the rosewood grips on stainless. Those silly plastic ones they offer as the only choice now just don't do it for me. I think you got a beautiful little six-shooter that you'll be happy with for many years to come.

My youngest Grand-daughter ( early teens) has already called dibbs on it. Thanx for the kind words. Now to find Buffalo Bore ammo in my area. May have to travel to Cabela's in Conn..

Back again.. Need a storage holster. Was thinking of the Oklahoma leather ones at Cabela's.. If I'm gonna give $15 for a mis-fit Unk. Mike's may as well spend $25 and get one that at least will fit. Opinions pro and con please. Remember just to keep safe in the safe..

For better protection I might recommend one of the Allen suede pistol rugs instead of a holster. It would still cost you right around $25, but it zips closed and has a plush lining to keep the gun padded. The suede cover still allows it to breathe, unlike a nylon or plastic gun rug.

A holster won't protect the grips or the back of the frame.

OTOH, if an inexpensive holster is what you want, those from Cabelas would do, as would a Hunter brand. Though honestly, I'd probably spring for a Threepersons style from someone like El Paso Saddlery. Almost did, in fact.

+1 . Save the holster for strapping on when you go to town, the hills, camping, fishing, hunting, hiking.... .

That sure is a 'bright' gun you have there. The .45 Colt cartridge is one of the, if not, the best out there .

I just ordered the sleeve and the holster ..Check the pics. It's stainless not blued.
