Dern it,, I missed one!

I have a good friend,, (and a few folks here know him,) who stumbled onto a really good deal recently. He went looking for one thing,, and found something he felt he should buy. But before he did,, he asked my advice. I didn't know it was in a local gun shop.

Ruger Super Blackhawk,, .44 mag,, brass grip frame,, that's listed in Dougan's book. And it's in very nice condition.

It hurt when he said it cost him $750.00.

Dern it,, I missed one!

If I had known where it was,,,,,,,,,! He didn't tell me until AFTER he bought it.

Jim,, if he had told me where it was,, I would NOT have bought it out from under him. But I would have told him that if he didn't buy it ,, I would!

My missing it involved him FINDING it before I did! If I had seen it first,, he would have never gotten the chance!

He was actually looking for a Ruger Alaskan in .44 when he stumbled upon it.

Oh, I looked it over yesterday & it's very nice. I laid claim as to "the right of first refusal" if he decides to sell. But he buys & doesn't sell. I still had to get in my 0.02 cents worth!

So no,, never fear that I'd do a friend like that!

I had the opposite thing happen last week. I found a nice rifle and showed it to my friend so I wouldn’t buy it.

I had a similar experience a friend called me picking my brain about a long frame super #7xx for about $700 something dollars and was it worth it I asked where it was he wouldn't tell me I told him I would shoot him if he let it go by without telling me turned out it was only 10 miles from me at a small shop I dont get to very often he did get it and lets me hold it once in awhile

I spoke with my friend again yesterday. I'm tempting him with an offer of a trade. I'm offering an Alaskan for it,,,! He wants to shoot it first.

Would it be wrong to wish for him to get a bit of knuckle rapping to where he decides to trade with me??
