You shoulda been there. A lot of very serious collectors and antique dealers were at this auction, as well as a lot of us ordinary local folks. The bidding on the rarest items was just nuts. Iirc the highest bid item was around $40k. Way out of my league, but it sure was fun! Stevens usually has a preview with free eats and wine the day before, so you get a chance to handle the stuff - very carefully, I might add. :shock:
