just an old gun.... worth anything?

This guy I know has this old gun he got from his dad..... I told him it's junk.... but I'd take it off his hands so that he wouldn't have to look at it..... I'd imagine it's actually worth a bit... this gun was actually carried and used a bunch...
It's (I think), in really great shape for an actual field piece.... Although with that long barrel I'd need johnsons elevator shoes just to tote it around....

If it hasn't been converted, could be worth almost as much as the one that JUST SOLD in our very own CLASSIFIEDS....... (I doubt anyone will tell you what it really went for).
Prolly a solid $2100 if not converted....
IMHO without ANY real knowledge..

all depends on just who may have actually doe the work ( rebarrel) ad we sold a few some years ago that came out of the late 'Cherokee' estate, here on the forum and were done at Diagnal Rd gun shop here in OHio, some long barrel OM 44s as well as OM .30 carbines, all fetched a good dollar back then too..........;)(y)

It belongs to a good friend, former alaska guide...... and yes it was a joke... an old flat top ruger is never junk!!.... a davis derringer (new or otherwise) is always junk.. it's obviously worth a bunch, but honestly I'd have no interest in it other than mild curiosity.... it's all original.. not converted, and looks to have just a bit of honest holster wear.....
this a factory gun, not a conversion..
It's in another state so I can't get more pics, nor would the owner be interested in taking any.... we were just chatting about loads for it, and he sent the pic...
I'll be passing through his area one day, and maybe I'll get a chance to shoot it, but I'd rather shoot my SBH 44 with my heavy loads than a flat top 44 with most anything....

I'm thinking the barrel length should be 10" on an original factory flattop. The 10 1/2" barrels were on the NEW MODEL Super Blackhawk's.

No need to shoot it..... just show it off to US... !!
I've only seen one in my lifetime (very clean too). My buddy stole it 20 yrs ago for $400 from a NY gun shop that had no idea (because it wasn't plastic)!!!

I'd disagree with that assessment.

The RENE price guide for 2026 says a 10" .44 Ft in 95% condition is worth about $2200.00.
That one is not 95% condition.
I'd value it,, as a fair deal for both parties in the $1500-$1700 range possibly. I'd have to handle it to give it a proper valuation.

In California it would probably go for the higher price no.problem....We always pay more for everything here....I went by a Chevron yesterday and their gas "cash price" was $6.79 per gallon and that is the regular unleaded...nor the Hi Test stuff......Newscum has done a wonderful job of governing this state and the good news is he wants to be the Democratic candidate for President down the road. That is something for everyone to look forward to.....
