Old Model reduced power spring kits?

I have both an early SS and Blackhawk which I would like to try the reduced spring kits on. Is there a particular kit which is preferred and where is the best buy made? I see Bownells, Midway and ebay with kits. Dave

I suspect that the majority of them are being made by Wolff.
Even if they aint, they all still work the same...meaning that the idea is to reduce the effort it takes to cock and fire the gun.
Personaly, if I was unsure as to exactly what I wanted, I'd look for a kit that had more than one weight of hammer spring. To my way of thinking, doing it that way might save some money in the long run.

Put a Wolff kit in one using the 19# hammer spring. Had to put the stock spring back as I had misfires with Magnum Rifle CCI primers and reg. CCI rifle primers too. They offer--
Reduced Power....: 15, 17, 18, 19, 20 and 21 Lb.
Factory Standard..: 23 Lb. (Reference Only)
Extra Power.........: 24, 25, 26 and 28 Lb.

To the best of my knowledge OM/NM mainsprings are usually interchangeable.
I usually install the "heavy" design, as installed on the .357 Maximum Blackhawk.
I'll leave the springs alone on my "small bore" revolvers.

If you just want to reduce the trigger pull, try replacing the trigger spring with a spring from a ballpoint pen.

You want the most hammer spring you can stand, the rest of the improvement is up front down low.
