math help. i have some leftover davinci 9" faux slate gray tiles from a job 17 years ago in my basement.
how many 9" tiles would it take to cover a traditional square?
i remember 3 bundles of asphalt shingles is 1 square.
is this right?

Not a roofer, but a square of shingles equals roughly 100 square feet. Doing the math, it would take 1.7777777777777778 or so 9-inch squares to make up a square foot; thus, approximately 178 nine-inch tiles to cover 100 square feet.

Yup... 10 x 10 is 100 sq ft, or 14,400 square inches. A 9x9 tile is 81 sq in, so 177.78 tiles is 100 sq ft.10 x 10

now, i have 50 bundles of 30 tiles ea. = 1500 9x9 tiles.
so if you please, how many square is that?
and how big a roof could i do with it?

9 X 9 Tile plus 1/8 expansion joint both side to side and top to bottom = 83.27 square inches. 83.27 inches per tile x 1500 tiles = 124, 898.4 square inches of total coverage. 124.898.4 / 14,400 square inches in a square = 8.67 squares
