While I was messing around with my project gun today, I went ahead and removed the trigger and all the linkages to smooth stuff out and polish some items...

While I was staring at the trigger and the two screws Ruger gave us to turn in and out, I got to thinking about the spring located above the rear screw.

Given that this is this spring is directly related with the force necessary to pull the trigger, has anyone ever gone and replaced this spring with one that takes less effort to compress?

It was just a passing thought as I was polishing....

If anyone is interested, I removed the safety and polished the underside of it (on the receiver where the roll pins slide) along with putting a radius on the leading edge so I wouldn't have the almost painful safety engagement I did have... It's much smoother now.. I did a little write up with pictures in the "smithing" area.
