American gen 1 and gen 2 question

Will a gen 2 American fit in a American gen 1 stock??

I don't know but I find myself wondering why one would want to do that. I haven't owned or shot a gen 1 but unless I am mistaken the gen 2 does not flex as much as the gen 1 stock. I believe it is better unless one just doesn't like a monte carlo style stock.

I asked this because I have a gen 1 predater that uses AR mags, this is a Ruger factory rifle, the AR mags work great in a rifle set up like this from Ruger.
I bought a Boyds AT 1 stock, stock and mags work fine, I do not like the stock and have it for sale. Prospective buyers have asked me if a gen 2 will fit this stock and I wasn't sure.
