Off center barrel normal for a GP100... ?

Sorry about the post below - making sure my pic showed. So here is my question. I purchased a new GP100 a few months back and recently noticed that the fit between the barrel and the frame was a tad off center. If you look at the widest part of the barrel where it meets the frame you can see where more of the frame shows on the right side. I've tried to look at as many other GP100's as possible to see how common this is but only saw one other that seemed a bit off the center. Anyone have a GP that looks like mine regarding the barrel fit? It seems to shoot accurately so I'm not sure if this is even something I should be concerned with. Maybe it is within spec and I am being overly anal ...just curious what you guys think. Thanks for any info!!!!

Ain't nothing to worry about, completely normal. Those frames are ground down and sometimes they are a little un-even where they 'mate' to the barrel. welcome to the forum

...also note a transfer bar rattle and loose ejector rod are both normal. It is just the design. You have one of the sturdiest 357's on the planet and it will outlast any of the others no matter how much you shoot it.

This one protects me and my family.

Jimbo, how do you like the HiViz sights. I have some on a 22/45 and they seem to work well

A set came with the GP 100 I just bought, but I'm considering getting a red ramp sight instead.

Did you find they change your sight picture at all?

Jimbo, how do you like the HiViz sights.

I like the HiViz sight. I got it at the RugerStore online. It is quick on target. It is the one with six light sticks. They have a front sight with a red plastic insert also. I kept the square notch rear. I think I have tried every sight even the old brass bead front sight and I like this combo best. It is good for target shooting and works well even in low light.

if it shoots salright no worries. i have noticed alittle more metal missing form one side or the other of a ruger or two of mine but its never made a difference.

They are all 100% hand polished. Sometimes more taken off of one side than the other. Its not off center, the perception of "on center" has been changed by the polishing of the outside (cosmetic) of the frame. It certainly could be better but it also won't hurt anything that matters.

I wish I could find a GR100 that that is all that was wrong with it. I have bought two and both the barrel was screwed into the frame at an angle. I meaning not parallel with the axis of the gun!! No amount of sight adjustment would compensate for it!?? I can't find a GR100 in this area with out that problem. I have about given up on the GP100 and am looking for a smith 686.
