Fellows are the Leupold low rings for a Number 1 any lower than factory low rings? Thanks.

If I know how to use a micrometer, the Ruger LOW #4 ring is .345 from the bottom on the base to the bottom of the of the ring, 1" portion

The Ruger is .230 from the bottom of the base area to the bottom of the ring.

A little quick math says that the Leupold ring is .115 lower than the Ruger ring.

Hey Ross, I thingk we got your point

I just wish the Leupold rings for the No. 1 were stocked in my area.... "Buy Now" is my only option... With only being 110 miles from them, you'd think they'd be everywhere...lol..

On a similar note: why is it Ruger either send the gun with medium or high rings when all I need is low?

No idea what I hit three times. ;-)

NOW I can't find the delete button. Pretty sure it's Partimers setting in. ;-(

Getting old sucks.

Like you I have no idea why the default rings aren't lows but would even settle for mediums. I was looking at the Ruger page and was amazed that they send "A"s out with HIGHS!!! Yikes

They even send "highs" with the RSI. Surely nobody would put a 65 mm scope on that trim, lovely carbine. I just today sent them the rings back to exchange for my 303 A. Found the Real Deal on a couple of 30mm Leupolds this weekend. Now maybe I can stop playing musical riflescopes......
