Will yesterday the wife and I went out sot are five new guns, LCP380,LC380,SR9,SR40C and the SR45. Boy what a day. See it's been 25 years or so since I have had a gun in my hand. And about the same time for the wife. We had agreat time a friend was there to guide us. It will take some more time but we did good at 25yrds. Of course the LCP was the one we had the most issue with getting in in the targe but some rounds went there. I do no I am not a real fan of the SR 9 not the gun just a 9 it self. I felt that I liked the SR40c and the SR45 better. But with more time at the range we will get better.
all in all a great day.

Now for the realy big gun My new AR 15. See I am retired from the army so putting that in my hands was all most like the old days. Did great at 25,50 and 100 yrds. Took out two colored 1 gallon bottles at 100yrds. Not bad for an old man.

Great to see a veteran still enjoying the sport. So often my military friends show little to know interesting in going on a shooting trip with me. One tells me he simply see's no fun in it anymore after so many years of shooting / carrying a weapon. And when he did have to shoot it it was more of a pain for him when he had to go and requal with it every so often. So it wasn't exactly fun then either.

Agree on the 9 vrs 40c, I've shot both and I see very little difference in recoil. At least with the sr's, other guns the added recoil its very apparent and obvious.

Thanks all. I did my time in a war that alot do not like to talk about but that's OK. The wife and are really looking forward to doing more. :D

You didn't mention any shotguns in your future. Try to get onto a trap or skeet range, and bust some clays. It is not for everybody, but can be a lot of fun. You and the wife might really enjoy it. Thanks for your service, enjoy your retirement you earned it. Ed
