new pocket rocket...

ive been lusting after the Ruger Alaskan in 44 mag for some time... i have always touted if i find one locally i would buy it... well the other day, my friend calls me up with that put up or shut up phrase i dread to hear... "i found YOU an alaskan. its at such and such pawn here in town. and its a 44 mag!"

DOH! now i got two choices. i can stop having him look for guns for me (which would probably be a good idea for my pocket book, but a bad idea for me cause that man can find a gun) and risk a constant barrage of harassment that comes after someone finds a gun for you that you have wanted for sometime and you pass on it... or... i can go buy the dang thing...

did i want it wasnt a question. i wanted it. even without seeing it i wanted it... but i just didnt need to spend the money... my saving grace is i was out of town. so surely as rare as these things are it will be gone by the time i get back into town. no sweat. "hey thanks man! i will check it out if its still around when i get back in town... (yea right, it'll be gone.)"

well, it WASN'T gone... so i got a new pocket rocket...

Well my pockets were deep from all the cash I had to spend on the gun so this fills the void. Lol. J/k

Congratulations!

I just picked one up a few days ago. I tried it out the first day on a 300 pound wild hog and I won!

I am very pleased with the accuracy and a little surprised at the recoil. Believe me, it is heavy enough, but not what I expected, due to the weight of the gun and a well designed grip.

This is a snubbie on steroids!
