bottom of lost mountin Sequim Wa.
Went shooting today every thing went well. When I got home and seneperated my brass I noticed one 44 Mag. split almost all the around about 1/2 up from the base or rim. I just was wondering if it did seperate what is the best way to extract the remaining part of the case from the chamber? I was shooting a lever action Puma and a SBH. It could end a hunting trip. Any help would be great

Sometimes a brass "ring" can be removed by a tight fitting bore brush wrapped with a wet cleaning patch.
I have heard of "freezing" cylinders with something to shrink the steel away from the brass on really sticky ones.

tomahawk, With the real tight fitting one's, I screw in the appropriate size "tap" ever so slightly then bang the tap out with a wooden dowel rod. Voila, out comes the piece of brass! Don't go "overboard" with the tap or you will score the chamber walls!!!..................Dick
