Last week I replaced the fixed, 3 dot factory installed sights on my 22/45 slabside 4" with factory adjustable front and rear(front is the undercut style). The original sights were just not clear enough anymore.
After the swap, it won't fit the old holster. In fact it was one of those "oh crap" moments when I shoved it into the holster and the front sight snagged like a fish hook. Anyhoo, I'm looking for an economical(under$40) belt holster that will hold this little pistol w/o being ripped by that knife edge front sight. I need a safety strap and prefer a closed end considering the use this outfit gets. I use Hunter "multifit" holsters for the 5.5" versions of this pistol but want an appropriate length and hopefully a slightly snugger fit.
There aren't any gunshops around that carry a selection of holsters so I'll have to order whatever I get.
I appreciate any suggestions or comments. Thanks

It may not be the option you are looking for, but I recently got a kydex holster designed to fit the MK series guns. It'll fit them with or without optics. I have stuck several of my different models in it & so far it's held them all. It doesn't have a safety strap, as it used tension screws to hold the gun in place. Miss Penny tried it & couldn't hold it & pull it out easily until I told her to apply a bit more force. On a belt, it allows a secure hold, yet I can draw it easily. It will cover the longer barrels, but put a 4" barreled gun in it & while worn looks fine. But once you shuck it out, it seems funny to see a short barrel come out of a longer holster.
I got mine through Midway. It comes from www.tdlabs.com
It was on sale at Midway.
