I picked up a vaquero 44 mag stainless 5 1/2" (FLAWLESS) today on a trade. Box papers and all. Only had two bills in the item I traded. Still can't believe it. The gun also has never been fired except by factory. Part of me wants to shoot her and another part wants to leave her be. Ser# starts w/58 how old is she? TY

From just the first two numbers it can be from 2002 to 2005. We need the rest to pin it down to a single year. Sounds like you have a nice Vaquero, may it be the first of many.

Welcome to the Forum!
A nice gun for sure,,, and you won't hurt it if you shoot it & take care of it. As noted, more of the serial will get you closer to it's shipping date. Example; 58-123xx

Since you only have $200 into it, how about you sell it to me for $500? Then I'll shoot it 'til the wheels fall off...

So yeah, even if you aren't interested in selling, go shoot it. It's not a "collectors item," and leaving it unfired really only adds about $50 to its value (from what I've been seeing AND PAYING FOR THEM lately). The 44mag Vaqueros are just a "desirable item" because so many of us want them to shoot!!!

You've got a part of you that does NOT want to shoot a Vaquero? You want to work on that.

Planning on putting some lead through her soon. I seen them on gun broker at $700 NIB. I may sell for that price.
