I sold a 4 5/8" NM to a buddy a few years ago and was thinking about seeing if he would sell it back. Walked into the local pawn shop and there it was. Now we both have one...

Yeah, that gun would be $750 where I live.
I passed on a S&W .41 Mag for $750 almost ten years ago and I've been kicking myself almost every day since. Ditto for a Super Redhawk in .480 Ruger.

Cofaler, you done good that is a nice one, my favorite was one we built some years ago for our late Navy Seabee friend Fred P, may he rest in peace, and after he passed we got it over to his nephew Chris, started out as a 6 1/2 in we cut down to 5 inch legal for hunting here in OHio, show here with its brother ,below............

I Never saw one in person, actually I may have but I generally buy stainless because blue grows a red beard from my salty hands so I have less interest in blue...never handled a 3 screw Ruger in all these years??where have you been ???
That's a great deal and I would have pulled a hamstring jumping on it. Sold my Ruger .41 a few years back and have regretted it ever since.
I really wanted a 4-inch but I couldn't pass this one since it's so nice. Too bad no box was included.

That is what the San Francisco Police Patrol Bureau personnel were issued in the late 1960s and 1970s. The complaints about weight and recoil were widespread. Still, a fine gun piece. Carrying it for a full watch or longer every day would be a challenge. They should have brought back the Sam Brown shoulder strap to shift some of the load.
A number of agencies still use the Sam Brown strap even if it’s no longer for original intended purposes.

Sold mine to a buddy that just had to have it. With the stipulation I’m first up if he decides to get rid of it. Had sold my Taurus .41 a few months before and decided to downsize the number of calibers I reload for.
I don't sell stuff to friends anymore.
I sold my sainted Beretta 96D to a friend who several years after the sale took his own life with it. On two other occasions I sold to friends and one widow wanted me to have a 10mm I sold my friend but I bought it instead and wound up selling to a sales guy in a pawn shop. Another who was like a little brother to me, after much badgering me to sell it, I reluctantly sold / traded him a rareish Citori and when he passed away his ex-wife wanted me to liquidate his firearms estate, I couldn't do it.

My dad got me hooked on that caliber and have been pretty loyal to it ever since. Even have a Marlin Cowboy in that caliber to go with them.

Thats why Freddie wanted the Old Army stainless parts on his 41 mag., to use it all the time......... 
Hittman we saw the 4 in Mod 57 at the last show, and watched a guy buy it for $800 off a table, I had the model 58 years ago, 4-in blued NICE gun but sold it a local LE friend, as they were going to go to those guns for their department and it got "kiboshed" by the upper etchelon....oh well

What are the advantages of a 41 over a 357 or 44 special?
41 MAG is a great caliber, as it is in the middle between the 357 & 44 MAG, closer to the 44 MAG as that's really a 43 caliber as the bullets, jacketed anyway measure .429.
Most commercial cast bullets are .430
I like all three a lot myself.
They all have uses they are best at for many people & various situations.
