A friend has a Model 77 in 270 WIN Caliber.
The gun is the blue walnut stocked light weight version with an 18.5" barrel,
Black forend stock tip, adjustable sights with the front sight looking like a Safari style band holding the front sight to the barrel.
The gun also has a Tang Safety with round bolt knob.

The gun is in as new condition with less than one box of 270 ammo through it.

Any idea how much this rifle is worth?

Thanks - J.Solo

it souinds like you have a 77RLS,

you don't mention a serial number but I would suspect it is a 770-772 prefix, made sometime in the late 1980's or early 1990's, just before the change to the MkII, with a black recoil pad.

a lot depends on condition: a guess.....$375-425. but that can vary from region to region.

Thats a fairly desirable rifle, being the lightweight with sights. I always considered them the best looking, but I think Ruger rifles in general are all good looking rifles. In that condition I would say its worth exactly what a brand new rifle is selling for, at least $550 complete with box, paperwork, and rings.

Yep, it sounds like the desirable M77RLS carbine made from 1987 to 1991. Price in as new condition is where Mattsbox99 suggested.

A 270 cal. Ultralight with a tang safety !! This will become one of your favorite rifles.

Had one. My friend still has it. It has killed many a deer between the two of us. Several more in the hands of his father. One of the rifles I regret selling.
