MKII won't cycle

My MKII that I have owned for years and shot thousands of times will not full insert into the chamber gold bullets from a green box.
The gun is clean and shoots federal bullets just fine {on the same outing} my Buckmark shoots the same box of gold bullets fine.
Any ideas why the gold bullets won't chamber correctly?

I had 2 or 3 big Rem. GB's boxes where the bullets were oversized. Rem. said I could send them back, but I decided to shoot them in my revolvers. What a PITA! They were a no go in my Bearcat unless I jammed them in with a wooden clothespin.

Your lot is most likely assembled with oversized bullets.

One of the most important accessories to have for a semi auto .22, is a nice revolver to digest all the ammo that doesn’t function in the automatic! .

I bet Cholo is correct. Make sure the chamber is clean and not leaded up.

My experience with Remington golden bullet .22 has been uniformly bad.

Only time I had ammo not fully chamber was when I was dry firing it with out a snap cap. Firing pin put a divot on the face of the breech and the brass would hang up. Do you dry fire it?

I began have problems with the Rem gold when the obama era hoarding began. Feeding (FTF) problems being the main problem, then the amount of misfires. I have a .22 conversion for my Glock & the company said to always use the gold. I wrote to them about the failures to feed with the gold, since the hoard, & they said they were aware.
FTF in all my semi auto Ruger's also. One observation I made was the bullet seemed out of spec. I didn't take measurements, but in many FTF, the round would hit the top of the chamber, deform the bullet & some looked as though they were coming out of the case.
Just my $.02 for what it's worth.

I'll offer a rather 'general' statement: Before getting upset over function or accuracy of ANY 22 rimfire, try SEVERAL brands/types of ammo. Of course, there's always a chance the firearm is faulty but a far bigger chance that ammo related issues are to blame.

And to add, accuracy can be substantially different from one man'f to another in rimfire ammo. Even from lot to lot from the same man'f in some cases. I have always heard the Golden Bullets were trash, but I have successfully cycled them through my AR's as well as my 22/45 MkII

My worst experience was with Winchester in a white box.

Thank you for the info guys. I have got to believe they are oversized as everything else has been covered. I guess I will run them through my other 22's just to burn them up. I have shot thousands of the gold bullets {they seem to almost always be on sale} and never had this problem or even thought it was possible. Thanks again for the help.

I've had trouble with all bulk Remington. 22 at one time or another. Winchester runs to dirty. I've found Blazer and Federal Bulk ammo are good to go. So that's about all I shoot.

I'm blaming the Remington ammo. Tons of feed issues with that in semiauto guns. Luckily I do have a revolver or two so it doesn't go to waste here. Maybe try some Aguila or CCI ? Those are usually decent.
