Hi all,
Looking for some info on a MKII model 00173.
This one has a 6 inch tapered barrel, comes with Ruger rail and rings.
Is this one of the Friends of the NRA editions?
And approximate value as I will be moving this on soon.

Thank you!

Looks like a standard MKII [MK6] that was drilled and tapped at the factory [circled L on end label]. Someone added an adjustable rear sight to it and the base/rings from a competition target model. A hybrid of sorts! Also the finish on the barreled upper seems to show more of a matte finish when compared to the grip frame. So it may have been refinished at some point. Should be gloss like the grip frame.

The NRA version was a 4.75" barrel, Catalog No. MK4NRA, Model 00169. The rear sight Al James mentions appears to be from a MKIII. It will require a taller front sight for open sight use or replacement of the rear sight with a fixed one and scope base removal. The D&T is a plus particularly since it's marked on the label and the box looks to be original.

While it is a little unusual, based on what I see in the pictures, condition trumps the features. Looks to be a shooter grade pistol that will require a scope or sight modifications to shoot. I would say $200 - $250 max. Maybe things are higher in New Mexico.

Well, a few folks beat me to it.

A modified MKII Standard type. Quickly confirmed by the MK6 model info on the box.

Not an NRA edition.

Just a modified shooter.

Maybe someone here can explain what's going on with the grips panels in the first two pictures?

I don't recall ever seeing a factory pistol with medallions on both sides.

Another custom mod?
