I didn't realize the grips were different on the slab side models from the regular MKIIs.

Do all the target models use the same grips; whether they're slab side barrel or not?

Anybody have a picture to highlight the differences?

My Mark II KMK678GC (slabside) came with wood, partially checkered, thumbrest grips. I believe this is standard issue for the "slabside" models. If you are asking will they fit on other Mark II target pistols then yes, they will. The regular grips (black, checkered plastic) that come on other target models will fit on the slabside also. They are all (mark II target or standard models) interchangeable. Is that what you are asking?

as noted above, all the MK II grips will work on each other, except for the 22/45 or if the upper ( receiver) may have been installed onto an earlier MK I frame, see this done from time to time, or vice versa........the MK II has the cutout ,notch, at the top of the LEFT panel to clear the hold open lever, MK I does NOT......
MKI's ( and standard autos) have two different hole patterns in the frame ,A-54 and the later A-100....and the even later MK III has the "notch " on the left hand panel to clear the magazine release button........but the MK IIs are the same except for the material as noted above by 'kacher1'..........
I'm trying to figure out your comment that YOU have noticed a "difference from the slabside, versus , any other MK II),,,,,,the "slabside" of any barrel would have nothing to do with the grip frames.

I haven't noticed a difference because I don't have the guns to compare; yet. In searching for NON thumb rest grips for a MKII "Competition Target Model" with the slab side barrel, I've become confused. I've seen grips advertised as "target" grips and others not. Maybe the "Target" grips mean WITH a thumb rest, I do not know.

Just want to ensure that when I order flat panel grips for a MKII they will fit my KMKII678GC that I've bought but don't have yet. They have nice looking RH thumb rest grips which are useless to we leftys. So, I'm in the market for wood flat panel (NON thumb rest) grips for it.

Thanks for your help, I believe that clears things up nicely.

Regular wood, or plastic, Mark II grip panels will fit your competition model.

Hey Bullseye, do you know of any of the "opposite" grip panel ( the left one) that we could put together a pair, with NO thumb rest for Mike???? I have the right panel.........

Sorry I don't have any wooden factory panels on-hand, but since you asked Dan, I'll go a set better for Hittman's Competition Model. I have a nice set of custom wood MKII grip panels, if he'd like these for his new MKII.

Yes, MkIII grips will fit a MKII. The underside of the MKIII grips have been relieved for the hold down screw of the mag release. In some cases you may be able to see a slight gap where the relief cut is present but only from the side.
