Welcome to the Forum zing

It would matter what year or serial # exactly which grips came with your competition target model..
I had a 1999 KMK678GC & it was the first year for the red background Ruger Emblems, Before that they had a black background, also the newer style of grips are made by Hogue & IIRC they used to be made by Lett Grips who are now out of Business..
I found these @ ShopRuger.Com & I think there the right grips but the price is too high IMO.. I remember selling these grips for $25cash.. There may be some folks with some New Old Stock out there, also these were also available Left Handed for South Paws with the thumb Rest reversed..

Ruger has a scope ring finder on their webpage & I assume your GC is stainless..
4K90282 looks like the part # for the factory rings shipped with the stainless MKII Targets.. Look At these links.. In RED..

Also Here's the link to the page that shows the owners manuals & gives birth year via your serial #, It will also give you some info on sight adjustment & factory sight picture..
I prefer to aim exactly were I'm shooting not aiming 4-5 nches low..

Zing, welcome to the Forum, bottom line is ANY two rings of the SAME height will work on your gun, I believe they were the 'low' ones that came with the gun, lots of folks got rid of them as they were using 30mm optics ( red dots) and swapped them out...and the grips were right handed ,thum rest and were 'laminated'...I know you can still get the rings, though they are VERY pricy at the 'retail' level; we see them around here for half the price, and the MK II grips I do not think they cary any longer, give the parts/service department a call.............

Thanks for the info! I called ruger and they said that it didnt come with rings??? They also couldnt tell me whether it was red or black background. They said it was produced in 92, so I guess that would make it the black background. Thanks berrettapistol. I checked the manual and it appears that I need the low scope mounts S100RL. Thanks rugerguy.

I think these are the right grips, but with a red background

Guess Ill start looking around here for the grips and low rings.

My hardcase also appears to be for a lefty gun, since the thumb rest doesnt rest down into the case. Did they make them both ways?

The cases were made so both the right & Left grips could be placed in the case..Or at least the ones I've seen did..
Congrats on the MKII zing..
Your Gonna love it..

Here is what came with my MK II Competition mfg in 2000. I love that "Made In The USA" sticker.
