To all the Veterans and currently serving military, their families, and the families of the fallen: THANK YOU
This an especially difficult 'holiday' for me with all the commentary, reminiscing, and documentary video. I made a mistake a couple nights back sitting here watching some footage from Viet Nam that reminded me that many had a far more difficult time than I. That allowed a door that's normally closed and barred to open just a crack letting 'stuff' spill out. Usually takes a while to clean that 'stuff' up and fully close the door so I'm not sleeping well. I expect there's lots of others in the same boat so hang tough and don't let the boogie man get the upper hand.

A smell, a movement out the corner of your eye, a face just a bit too familiar or a sound. Suddenly, the reason for this holiday comes roaring back.

I thank my Uncle Paul US Army Signal Corps KIA 10/4/18 , my Cousin Eddy who is MIA in The Battle of the Pusan Perimeter Korea and all those who have paid the price for my freedom. I thank them not only today but every day...God Bless America.

Sadly or perhaps thankfully most will never understand the reason this holiday.

USN Vet 20 years service; Now his ashes have been spread at sea courtsey of the US NAVY out of San Diego. LOVED you Dad !
My Mom:
whose ashes are buried at the Riverside, CA National Cemetery-- LOVED YOU MOM !
My Brother Jimmy Lee
whose ashes were buried either in a wreck or spread in the Catalina Channel courtsey of the Calif. Wreck Divers Club. Miss you brother dear, you were always my BEST FRIEND all our lives.
My Little Brother:
Terry Averil:
whose ashes have been spread over all the trout streams in the Prescott AZ area. Miss you and Loved you Terry; You had a good heart and never did anyone wrong.
May they Rest In Peace, along with those whose bodies lie at the bottom of the Seas and Oceans of the world and beneath the sands of foreign lands because they gave their lives to secure our freedoms.

Post 102, placed flags at every veterans grave in East Hill Cemetery, Erie, Kansas, on Friday evening.
Also provided an honor guard for 2 different parades Saturday morning. Today we laid a wreath at the Shaw and Erie Cemetaries in honor of those gone on. Included a 21 gun salute, and Taps. wind gust to 30 MPH made holding the Stars and Stripes difficult. Commander Post 102, Overloadded
