Hmmm, how many of us who have a U S flag lower & raise it properly on Memorial Day, i.e. set at / or lower to half-staff from sunrise until noon and at noon raise to full staff . . . .

Every Flag I am in charge of, is lowered and raised appropriately.
Interesting. I don’t have a flag. But why half mast until noon and then raise it full staff after that?
Are there other days like this?
What about the flags on the short poles posted at an angle off the side of a house for example? In the past I’ve had flags like that. Just not one currently.

on a pole in the morning the flag should first be raised to full-staff and then lowered slowly to half-staff to "honor the fallen". Then at noon raised back to full-staff to acknowledge that "we are going to carry-on". For wall mounted angle poles, a black ribbon is attached to the top of the pole at sunrise, and removed at noon..... fyi 
Our Flag stays up 24hours and has a timed spot light on it at night. The flag pole is at an angle coming off of our house and so I'm wondering if there is a way to do the black ribbon instead of half mast on an angle pole? Also the flag is not attached with a line to raise or lower it but attached directly to the pole.

Not sure if it is proper but what I decided to do was just lower the pole from it's natural 45+degree angle down to about horizontal at sunrise this morning and at noon I will raise it back up.
