got the rifle today for $700.00. Its not a brushed stainless finish but some type of gray coating that is very nice . Beautiful gun.

Cool! Enjoy it. I've not seen that finish. I'm sure somebody else will chime in who knows what it is. Any pictures? Ed.

The grey coating is called the target grey finish. Not brushed. The brushed is the bright stainless , the matte is a bead blasted stainless , and the target grey is a coating used over an untouched stainless if that makes any sense...

That does make sense and good to hear its stainless as opposed to carbon steel. Thanks much for the replies. Now for a scope and some expensive ammo so I can shoot this beauty.

smokndav- That would be the Target model so its got the two stage adjustable trigger. They are excellent triggers and it should prove to be very accurate.

that is great news, I did not know Ruger had an adjustable trigger in anything. My old fashioned trigger pull gauge shows just 2.1lb out of the box.
