Hey guys! New to the site

I recently picked up an Early 70's M77 with a tang safety, heavy barrel, and a "hollow" bolt in 25/06. I'm looking for some input on value (I insure all my firearms) I would say the overall condition is good (some minor dents in the wood, bluing is near flawless.)

Also wondering how rare these are.

Any input is appreciated! Thanks

Justin,
Welcome to the Ruger Forum. Here's a link to discussions of M77V 25-06 and bolt types and there is much more - just use the search function.

You have come up with 2 questions that plague Ruger collectors: How RARE is it. and What's it worth. First, M77V 25-06 is a pretty scarce rifle. I've only had one and only have one other recorded, not that that means much. If there were more you'd think you would see more of them. What's it worth is a tough question to answer. Condition is everything when talking about collectible rifles as you probably know. I'd say M77V Hollow Bolts come up for sale so infrequently its hard to nail down a value. If you look at Gun Broker you might find some that have sold. Generally they will bring $100 or so more than a more common and later round bolt, around $650-750. Of course, if it were mine it would be worth a lot more!
