Finally snagged a rifle like I have been wanting since I was a young teen.
The story I was told is that the original owner was a personal friend of old man Bill himself, and that this rifle may have been gifted to him. I have no way to confirm this.
Now that Linda is no longer working the archives for Ruger, is there another method to tracking down some info on this somewhat peculiar rifle? It appears to be of a higher presentation quality with a richer bluing than norm, and walnut with strong striping in the grains. Fiddleback Walnut?
It has a sterling silver inlaid plaque in the stock, but someone has removed the inscription. Or it may have never been inscribed.
Check out the serial number! Perfect for liars poker. I can yell out "5 of a kind!!"
