Finally snagged a rifle like I have been wanting since I was a young teen.
The story I was told is that the original owner was a personal friend of old man Bill himself, and that this rifle may have been gifted to him. I have no way to confirm this.
Now that Linda is no longer working the archives for Ruger, is there another method to tracking down some info on this somewhat peculiar rifle? It appears to be of a higher presentation quality with a richer bluing than norm, and walnut with strong striping in the grains. Fiddleback Walnut?
It has a sterling silver inlaid plaque in the stock, but someone has removed the inscription. Or it may have never been inscribed.
Check out the serial number! Perfect for liars poker. I can yell out "5 of a kind!!"

It arrived today. She needs a good external cleaning, but she is perfect.
This is my 1st bolt action rifle, but I have been wanting this model for decades. Did they all come with such a deep polished blue? I don't recall having seen one with this polished of a bluing before. I really wish Linda was still doing letters. I strongly believe that this one is a special one. With this wood, polish, sterling silver plate in the stock, and serial number....it's got to be. Am I right?
