Could one of our astute members help me identify an old Lyman shell holder J-18? This is the old type shell holder used in the All American or Lyman Jr press. I have search on line and can't identify it. It is brand new old stock and never appears never used. Thanks guys.

You would expect that Lyman "might" keep the same numeration for their shell holders between different styles.
If that is the case, I have only one point of reference to that size from Lymans 46th Edition and places it for a .348 Winchester.

Thanks for the reply and you are 100% correct. I just found this answer last night the back door way. Since I couldn't the answer in my manuals or on line, I assumed it was a discontinued round and I went to my cartridge collection and started looking for large rimmed cartridges like a 45-70 or 45-90. I did find it to be a 38 Win. Now all I need to do is find a set of 348 dies and a Winchester Model 71 to go with my shell holder. Again, thanks for your help. :)

The .348 is a rimmed base with a .610 rim width, .070 thickness and a .535 cartridge width.
A 45/70 is close to this but would be a little sloppy in it.
Check the dimensions and see if this is close.
