Sick Again
It started Friday 2/16 when I passed "gas that turned out to be load of juicy smelly brown stuff. My lungs were also wheezie and I was barely hacking up thick yellowish stuff, could hardly breath. It kept hanging on and I took cough meds, etc etc but couldn't stomach eating (weight 198----> 187) Spent time sleeping, drinking liquids, etc. Talked to a Doc, " oh yeah something like that is going around"
Finally went down to the VA ER , they took a nose swab and I lad around in a bed for about 2 hrs and had to finally "buzz the call button "; Doc showed up and said no virus, gave a prescription for a diarrhea pills and I went home. Today after 12 days I can finally eat and breathe without wheeze, still some junk now and then when I cough, but feeling much better . STILL DONT KNOW what I had.

Hey, Turned 83 Feb 27 WHOOPIE !!!

Sounds like two different issues. Look up "Norovirus" , which is all over the place. It would explain digestive problems.

The lung problem could have been completely separate. Anything from a separate infection to wild fire pollutants if you are in their path.

Glad you're on the mend, those kinds of combo-platter illnesses are especially brutal and Happy Birthday!

Reminded me of a story of the Mrs and me a while back...

We were driving down I-95 Southbound through Philly. We're not far off the Girard Ave exit in Philadelphia. Anyhow, we were coming from somewhere up north of the city and I've got the hammer down pretty good, as my belly was cramping hard and giving the "growl song"...Let's just say that the more the pressure in my innards built, it migrated down my leg to my pedal foot...

We pass through the Bridesburg section of the city, which is 2 exits away from ours. Bridesburg is not only home to Rohm and Haas, a huge chemical plant and the water/sewage treatment plant (one of them) for the City of Philadelphia...so there's always a hanging odor.

Anyhow, we're doing about 75-80 and Mrs. Aqualung wrinkles her nose and laughs to me, "Did you fart, or is it just Bridesburg?"

I quickly replied, "Believe me, if I farted, I wouldn't need to be driving so fast anymore..."

FYI, we did make it home without any accidents...gastro or otherwise.

Avoid grains, wheat, barley, rye, oats, fried food. This should be followed for the rest of your life.

For you lungs take Ancestral Supplements Lung or Gaia Herbs Mighty Lung.

At our age, there is the additional concern that, what we thought was 'nothing' in our youth, we now WORRY about greatly.
We have to contend with the illness, and the worry.... but we CAN DO IT.
GET WELL CG
Happy Birthday...

Had pneumonia Thanksgiving: No runs, but hacking cough, white phlegm (indicates a viral infection), painful breathing. COVID test negative. Gave me an anti-viral. Was better in 2-3 days.

Wife had same thing. Was pushing herself for Kiwanis events (    ). Been down for a while. Went to walk-in clinic=gave her Imodium and something for the runs. No anti-biotics because it is a virus "going around". She's better and now I've got a chest infection. No runs but phlegm and hacking cough. I'm taking Coricidine for congestion, Nasacort for nasal congestion and I'm hanging in there. Drs. say (1) takes awhile to go away and (2) it's going around!

Just hang in there, take it easy and LOTS of rest!
